Daniel Yasinski

With great sadness, the family of the late Daniel Yasinski announce his passing at the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, MB, on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the age of 75 years.

Dan was born in Yorkton, SK, on January 24, 1947, to William and Lena (nee Bewcyk) Yasinski. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Yasinski in 1997; his father, William in 1966 and his mother, Lena in 2011; and his stepfather, John in 2008.

Dan is survived by his three children: Leanne (Glenn) Thacyk and grandson, Ryker, Trevor Yasinski, and Audrey Thibault and grandchildren: Abigail, Ty, and Nathan; his partner, Betty Wasnie and her children: Trevor (Grace), Jamie (Lisa), and Erin; grandchildren: Jordan (Megan), Austin, Brooklyn, and Rocco; his brother, Bill (Carol) Yasinski; sister, Marlene Mathers; and Betty`s brothers and sisters: Dorene (Paul), Tom (Anna), Lawrence (Lillian), Jean (Nickolas), and Deb; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The Yasinski and Wasnie families extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, MB, for the care given to Dan during his hospital stay.

The Prayer Service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, from the Chapel of Leson`s Funeral Home, Canora, SK and the Funeral Liturgy celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday April 23, 2022, from Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic, Rama, SK, with Very Rev. Fr. Joakim Rac, as Celebrant. Rite of Committal followed in Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, south of Rama, SK. Pallbearers were: Glenn Thacyk, Serge Shewchuk, Vern Lockert, Kholton Shewchuk, Jamie Wasnie, and Ashton Shewchuk.

Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Stars Air Ambulance, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Daniel Yasinski.
