Connor-Healy Funeral Home - Manchester Obituary

Daniel A. Yianakopolos, 76, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on September 8, 2025, following a sudden illness.

Born in Goffstown, NH, on January 22, 1949, he was the son of Andreas and Simone (Normand) Yianakopolos.

Dan was a proud graduate of Saint Mary High School, Class of 1967, where he excelled in basketball.

He dedicated his career to the United States Postal Service, serving as a letter carrier until his retirement. Dan was known for his strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and genuine connection with the many people he encountered on his routes. He also served as a proud and dedicated member, and past president, of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Local Branch 44, for many years.

A devoted community member, Dan belonged to the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, the East Side Club, and several other local social clubs in Manchester.

Beyond his work and service, Dan lived life with joy and a love of simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer and cherished his annual hunting trips with his son, Wade, traditions that brought him great happiness. On summer days, he found freedom in long rides in his bright red Corvette convertible. Dining out with Janine at Bonsai’s became one of his favorite pastimes, not only for the food, but for the friendships and memories built there. He also enjoyed playing softball at Wolfe Park with the Jewell Electronics Team.

Dan will be remembered for his kind spirit, warm smile, and the gift of making others feel welcome and valued. His family and friends will forever carry with them the joy of his laughter, his stories, and the many moments he so generously shared.

Family members include his beloved wife, Janine (Beaulieu) Yianakopolos; his son, Wade Yianakopolos and his partner, Kathleen Champagne; two step-sons, Brian Manning and Brendan Manning and his wife, Danielle; four grandchildren, Ashley Yianakopolos, Morgan Manning, Garrett Manning, and Cameron Manning; his sister, Patricia Glaude; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew, Robert, and Paul.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 3 to 5 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 5 PM.

Yankee was a friend and my Union president. He was a great person and one of the best union presidents of Branch 44 a letter carrier could have. He will be sorely missed by many. God bless you and keep you safe and happy in his kingdom .
