Not sure what to say?

All that is said about Dannie is so true. He always had a smile on his face and a cheerful hello. He was a friend of VFW Post 3377 in Manchaca and all of us that knew him will miss Dannie very much. To his family...may you find peace in this time of your loss.

Bill, Starr, and all the family, my sympathy on your loss. I am glad I had the time to go fishing with him . I met Dannie in 1974 my second year with Southwestern Bell Tel. Co. He made time for me and taught me the real good things in life. Time passed and we lost track of each other. We found each later in life and got together at least once a week after that. When I would see him he would always have a smile and a hug for me. I will miss both. So long dear friend. May your family be...

Starr, Bill and Sammie ~ and the rest of the family, It has been so many years since I have seen Dannie, and I regret that. We grew up together in our wonderful South 4th street neighborhood & that holds many memories for me ~ top one being when he and I set a vacant lot on fire ~ and didn't even know what we had done until we heard the firetrucks coming ~I think we were 5! You will be in my prayers in the days ahead and you allow God to bring comfort and peace to your hearts. Read 2...

My life has been for-ever changed by the love that Dannie has shown me & my family. He was a man who gave us food, shelter & love, all without expecting anything in return. He loved his children, whether biologically, or acquired in a package deal. One of the greatest joys of his life were his grandchildren.
Dannie, I will miss you & that million dollar smile! I'm so thankful to have been given the gift of you in my life.

I am going to miss my Uncle Dannie! I was blessed to have him as part of my life. McKenzie and Dayton will remember Uncle Dannie by his fishing and hunting stories, his smile and of course his hugs that were never ending. I also want to send my sympathy out to Starr, Bill, Sammie, Heather, Amber, Cheyenne and Dalton. We are a strong family, but you guys have been through a lot this past year. Love you all.

My precious family of the heart,
Wrap yourselves in the warm blanket of your dear ones' love and carry on Dannie's sparkling spirit. Starr, keep shining his hope, Heather, keep sharing his sense of humor, Amber, keep his twinkling smile in your eyes, and "Waff", keep walking tall in his boots to carry on your famous family heritage. James will go up to Travis and hook an 8 pounder in his honor and I'm right here across the street anytime you need me. Love you all so much, Stray Daug's Mom

Star and Sammie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family. Always remember the good times and this will keep his memories for ever. With my deepist sympathy JoBeth Williams Halliburton
