Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Danny Michael “Bubba” Henson, 65, of Wichita Falls passed away Monday, December 29, 2025.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Rucker officiating.  Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

Danny was born on June 21, 1960 in Wichita Falls to the late Danny Jo and Patsy June (Fowler) Henson.  He was the middle child of two sisters, Peggy only 11 months older than him, ad Becky coming 10 years after.  He was the perfect fit.  His daddy called him George, but his sister gave him a nickname that stuck forever, “Bubba”.  Danny’s smile could light up a dark room and his free spirit could embrace you like a warm hug.  He played varsity football at High School where he was known for his long red hair.

Danny began working for his father at Henson Auto Salvage 50 years ago, when he was only 15, and he never missed a day of work.  He greatly enjoyed gathering with family and friends, stock car racing, and shooting pool.  Danny was only married once for 17 years to Rachel, where he became an amazing father to his two kids, Daniel & Dalaney, but it is without a doubt his nieces and nephews loved their uncle Bubba.  Danny has been a hard-working, wheeling and dealing man his whole life.  Danny was a simple man, but there was nothing simple about his unconditional love.  He was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, and papa.  He will be missed by many, and always loved by many more.

He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents Sterlin and Alma Henson, and Charles and Mildred Fowler.

Danny is survived by mother Patsy June Henson; children Daniel Henson and Dalaney Henson; grandchildren Koby Holmes, Nyla Holmes, and Dani Jo Henson; sisters Peggy Long, and Becky Henson-Bolf; nieces and nephews Lacy Owen, Benny Long Jr., Clayton Bolf, Cody Bolf, Kelsey Long, Leighton Owen, and Harper Bolf; along with many life-long friends.

Not sure what to say?

Even though it has been years since I have seen Danny you can never forget that smile. He was one of many of the people I met while working at Bluebonnet Grocery. I also remember him at the racetrack. Always smiling! He was one of a kind. My prayers go out to the family and his friends. May he rest in peace.

Danny no doubt was a smiling good man . We both grew up on North 5th . I grew up at 1216 north 5th 2nd house behind drug store . He lived across the street from it . I saw him for the first time at his salvage yard last year . Talked about ole times in Northside and at Hirschi High School . I'll miss you brother . Til we meet again !!

My condolences to the Henson Family . Little Dan was a wonderful and caring man . I knew his grandfather ,and father , Big Dan , very well . All were friends and very good people. I’m so sorry to hear Little Dan has passed . God bless Rob Pinkman , Pinky

Sending prayers to the family. So very sorry to hear about Danny Micheal.

This breaks my heart. Danny Michael was older but he treated me like a sister. This man could make me laugh one minute then turn around and cry another. I attended a funeral with him one day and swore I’d never do “that” again. Seeing this man cry brought me to my knees. And now, I’m attending his. I’ll probably hit my knees again! I will always love you, Danny Michael like a brother. I will miss you! Thank you for all the good times and memories.
