Not sure what to say?

I was recently thinking about Dan. I was unaware of his passing until now. Dan was an amazing Professor, an inspiration, a role model, and a friend to many. I feel blessed to have had him in my life, if only for a few short years. I am sure he is missed by many since he was a positive influence to countless students, faculty, and community members.

Nancy, We well remember being awed by the clear and dedicated life you and Dan created. We'll miss his presence in the community.

Our deepest condolence for your loss and gratitude for a life well lived. Jim and Marilyn

I am so very sorry to learn of Dan Ihara's passing. My heart and condolences are with the Ihara family, especially my dear friend Rachel. You will be in my thoughts in the coming days.

We shared an office for a few years at HSU. Professor Ihara was brilliant, caring and quite simply an inspiration. He will be missed.

I'm very sad to hear of Dan's passing. He was a great mentor and I worked with him quite a bit while I was an Econ student at HSU. He was a big reason why I went on to graduate school. He will be missed!

Dear Nancy ,Rachel and Nathan,
I am very sorry to hear of Danny's passing.
Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I always remember that when you visit in Japan about 30years ago.
Best Regards

To Mrs Ihara and Danny's children - I only knew your husband and father a little bit, from Telluride Association...but his organization of the 2010 forty-year memorial at Deep Springs for our friend David Mossner was a masterpiece (kind, thoughtful, emotional)...and all the more impressive for the toll his Parkinson's was taking then. You have lost a gem.
