Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Danny S. McClung, 70, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Byers with Mr. Roger Deerinwater officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Danny was born on September 14, 1950 in Wichita Falls to the late Preston and Mary Beth (Steph) McClung.  He was a graduate of S H Rider High School, where he played football.  Danny started cutting hair for his friends at the age of 10, getting 50 cents a haircut, and it turned into a lifelong career, of which he was very proud of “doing it the right way”.  Danny and Fredia Rambo were married on May 18, 1983 at Bethania Hospital because the best man was a patient, and couldn’t leave for the wedding.  Along with cutting hair, they owned a café in Byers.  Danny enjoyed fishing and woodworking, especially making pens.  He loved sharing about the Lord, and considered the Barber Shop his ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Danny is survived by his wife of 38 years, Fredia; aunts Patti and Theresa Jameson of Iowa Park; cousin Morris McClung; along with several other aunts and uncles.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.owensandbrumley.com

Not sure what to say?

Danny was my barber when I lived in Wichita Falls. When I came back to visit some time ago I had intended to go get my hair cut, but found the shop had closed. I had assumed he had retired and was making pens full time now. I recently looked him up as the pen he gifted me when I moved back home had run dry and I wanted to know what to do to refill it. Sadly, I've now learned of his passing. Danny was a very kind man who always made me feel at home in Texas. I'm thankful that I was able to...

I am so sorry for your loss Fredia. Danny was loved by our family, especially his uncle Butch. As they were just 5 years apart in age, Butch spent quite a bit of time with him when they were young. I am sure they had a wonderful reunion in Heaven when Danny joined Butch and many other family members, including his Mom & Dad. Both of them loved to talk, so they are probably having lots of conversations. I will remember you in prayer. I know the coming days will not be easy as I have...

See you in a short brother of mine, Love You Danny

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Danny was a true friend and confidant. I will miss him. He will never be forgotten.
