It has been a "long road" since we met in Bettendorf. I am so glad I got to see Dan in Iowa City for a short visit. I could see his body was tired, but he so wanted to stay and fight. You gave it all you could, Dan. Go "home" and rest with family who have gone ahead of you. Sandy and family - hugs and love to you all.

I have memories of playing summer baseball with Danny and Roy at Washington Elementary playground in South Marion in the 1960's. It was a fun time to grow up. I was two years older than Danny and my younger brother was in Roy's class. My sincere sympathy to Danny's family.
