SCHWERTNER, Danny M. - Of Mt. Morris, age 55, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Visitation 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 until the time of the service at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Harvey officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation. Danny was born in Flint on September 8, 1954. Danny married Jeri McClellan on September 9, 2000 in Flushing. He was a great singer and loved to play the guitar and piano and was an avid golfer. Danny retired from General Motors after 31 years of service and was a member of the UAW. Surviving are wife, Jeri of Mt. Morris; four children: Nathan Weishuhn of Wisconsin, Nicole Stanley of Flint, Erik Riley of Davison and Danny Schwertner; granddaughters, Makayla Stanley, Gradie and Deja; Parents, Patricia (Roy) Johnson of Higgins Lake; three brothers: Gerald (Trish) Schwertner, Greg Schwertner, Dennis (Tammy) Schwertner; three sisters: Margaret (Cal) Stone, Madonna (Chris) Huston, Benetta (Charles) Wasinifsky; In-laws, Gerald and wife Patricia McClellan of Flint; grandmother, Thelma McGuiness of Flushing; two sisters-in-law, Gina (Mike) Vandenberg and Jamie (Ron) Halstead; Several nieces and nephews and was loved by many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Schwertner; three brothers: Patrick, Timothy and Terrance. Your condolences may be shared with the family at
