Danny Ray Scott

 Danny Ray Scott, 71, of Hardy, KY, passed away Sunday August 4, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center. Danny was born July 27, 1954, in Pike County, KY, to the late Alex "Ed" Scott and Vondell Maynard Scott. Danny is also preceded in death by his siblings, Tommy Scott, Vicki Jude, and Larry Scott, his great granddaughter, Kimber Raine Scott, nephew, Darby Reed, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rita and Steve Bevins, and his father-in-law, Glen Coleman. Danny was a coal miner, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. Danny loved riding and trading horses, and loved all people in general.
     Danny is survived by his loving wife, Nedra Gay Scott, his children, Chad (Cindy) Scott, Jason Scott and Joey Scott. Danny is also survived by his siblings, Gary Scott, Rodney Scott and Judy Martin, his grandchildren, Katie, Alex (Kaitlynn), Luke, Skyler, Daisy, Levi, Logan, Marley, Bradie (Elizabeth), and Cassidy, and his great grandchilren, Kaine, Mason, Nash, Blayne and Emersyn,  his mother-in-law, Estelene Coleman, and a host of loving family and friends.
     Visitation will be held Wednesday August 6, 2025, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home from 6 - 9 PM with special singing at 7 PM. The funeral will be held at 1 PM Thursday August 7, 2025, at R. E. Rogers Funral Home with Mike Smith and Gary Stewart officiating. The burial will follow at Scott Cemetery, Hardy, KY, with Chad, Jason, Joey, Alex, Luke, Levi, Mitchell, Jordan, Grant Scott and Bradie Begley serving as pallbearers.
