Danny Larry Thacker

Danny Larry Thacker, 79 of Sidney, KY, passed away June 22, 2023, at his home with his loving wife by his side. Danny was born January 30, 1944, in Pikeville, KY, the son of the late Ernest Thacker and Ethel Hazel West Thacker. He was also preceded in death by four sons, Lester Robinette, Bobby Thacker, Scott Thacker, Gregory Shawn Thacker, and a brother Johnny Thacker.  Danny was a member of the Canada Freewill Baptist Church. Danny served in the Vietnam War and later retired from the Coal Mines.
     Danny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis Thacker of Sidney, KY; his daughter-in-Laws, Denise Wyman, Samantha Thacker and Penny Robinette, his nine  brothers, Ervin, Ernest Jr., Lafie, Kenneth, Jackie, James Edward, Billie Joe, William Franklin, and David Thacker, his three  sisters, Gail Church, Lori Hartman, Connie Thacker, five grandchildren, Jacob Thacker, Jeremy (Tabitha) Smith, Matthew (Jade) Thacker, Natasha Hall, David Robinette, and five great grandchildren, Brayden and Avanna Smith, Alora Thacker, and Austin and Daniel Hall.
     Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday June 25, 2023, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Roger Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Sidney, KY, with David Adkins, Kenny Thacker, J.J. Thacker, Billy Thacker, Frankie Thacker, and Larry Reed serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Thacker and Jeremy Smith. Visitation will held Friday and Saturday night from 6 - 9 PM at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 PM with the Canada Freewill Baptist Church handling the services.
