Not sure what to say?

Coach, you were always such a great friend and supporter of this "Walk On" who did not rate being on the field talent-wise, but somehow found a way to stick it out with the boys. Your constant support and big smiles anytime I did a cartwheel were super important to me. Love ya man. Sorry I did not see you ever the past few years, but the Marine Corps took me far and wide over the past three plus decades...but every day thought of you and the team. Semper Fidelis Phil Rogers '86

Coach Wilmer thank you for shaping me and giving me an opportunity to be apart of the wahoo family.

RIP my friend, you were a man with a huge heart, you wanted everyone to be successful regardless of one´s race. There is so much I could say about you but what I will end with, Danny was a man who loved people and would help one in anyway he could. Joy comes in the morning, death is just the door to new life.

I was lucky enough to grow up in the glory days of Virginia Football, and enjoy the fields full of stars that Danny Wilmer brought to Charlottesville. As I got older I got to know Coach better, help him with projects like his youth camp, and call him a friend. Thank you for your kindness and generosity over the years, and my sympathy's to all your friends and family. I'm better for having known you Coach and I'll never forget you.

Myrna, I am so sorry to hear about your husband's death. Since, I grew up in Lexington, Virginia, and went to LHS, as did my husband, we knew of Danny in the 60'a, when PMS was usually beating us on the football field. And of course, when he as at UVA. Love to you and your family. Diana Pickral

One of the best human being you could ever meet. Kind gentle and one of a kind. Just truly cared about people. True testament of He would break you down to build you up to be a better man! Anyone can break you down but it takes a true compassionate person to make you better than you thought you could be that´s the difference between a Good Coach and a Great Coach. I truly will miss our talks at Rhetts.. I´m sure he´s recruiting Great People to be in Gods kingdom now!!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I hope fond memories get you through this difficult time.
