Daralyn "Pipa" Wakia Harris

Daralyn Wakia Harris was born May 7, 1990 to Donika Taylor and Darryl Harris. She was truly loved by her blessed father, James Taylor. 

Daralyn accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church in Metairie, La by the late Reverend Calvin Jackson, Sr.

She received her certification as a Nail Tech from Pat Goines Beauty School. And received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood and Development. 

Daralyn was dearly loved by her life partner, Claude Evans Jr. and to this partnership, two (2) beautiful children were born, strengthening their bond and love for one another, Cameron and Carmen Evans. 

Daralyn was employed by Chase Bank and Capital One Bank. 

On Tuesday March 12, 2024 at 02:23 PM, God dispatched his angel and brought our Beautiful, Intelligent "Pipa" home to sleep in his LOVING arms. 

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Wilma Ealy Fuller and Fannie Lewis Harris; grandfathers Tommy Lee Bell and James Harris, and an uncle Eddie Lewis. 

Daralyn "Pipa" was the cherished daughter of Donika (James) Taylor and Darryl Harris; loving companion of Claude Evans Jr., devoted mother of Cameron, Carmen, Kayla and Claude Evans III. Sister of Dariana (Mack) Montgomery, Deanna Harris, Darius Chapman, DC Taylor, and James Taylor, III. Granddaughter of Cleaven Fuller; niece of Torriana (Courtney) Lee, Gregory, Eric (Fredericka) and Charles Harris, Isiah Fuller, Josh Ealy, Schandra Dennis, Michelle Bell Miller, Nakita (Chris) Perry, Courtney (Dennis) Thomas, and Chrissie Pearson; also survived by honorary grandmother Dorothy Monroe; godparents, Keith Lewis Sr., and Yvette Williams; nieces Aaliyah Robinson, Delle Harris, and Mackenzie Montgomery; nephews, Ivory Robinson, Mack Montgomery, III and Mayson Montgomery; godchildren, Paris Smith, Riley Sneed, Byron Carter, Bria Green, Ave'yonne Carter, London Joseph, Bailee Henderson and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at Cypress Grove Baptist Church 901 31st Street, Kenner, La. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery 8200 Airline Dr. Metairie, La. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am in the above named church.
