It's hard to believe that such a vibrant and fun person has passed away. Darilyn and I began teaching at Northwestern State U. in the Fall, 1999. Although strangers, we both had a connection to the Bridgeport Symphony and became friends. We lost contact a few years after she left NSU, and I am very sorry to know that illness ended her very meaningful and noteworthy life.

Darilyn fought hard against her cancer. She left this world as she lived it - fiercely independent, grounded and devoted. She was a lover of horses, a skilled equestrian, a devotee to nature and, of course, a trustee in the glorious medium of classical music. A faculty member at BU described her as "the finest cellist to ever come through Boston University."
