Darius Spence Darius "Del" Spence, age 70, of Dumfries, Virginia passed away at his home with loving family by his side on December 16, 2009 after an extended illness. He was an associate professor at Northern Virginia Community College for many years until his retirement in 2007. He was a trustee at the First Assembly of God in Triangle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Thessie Spence and a brother, Daniel. Darius is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Thomas and James; a daughter, Tina Kerns of Dumfries, Va., brothers, Herbert Jr., Darrel and David Spence; a sister, Joyce Bishop all from Hillsdale, Mich. and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd. from 6 to 9 p.m. Services are scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
