I knew Darlene and Marlene all through grade school. I was in the MHS Band with both of them for 4 years. I knew Marlene had passed after a long battle with cancer. I am very sorry to hear of Darlene's passing. I'm sure she collected all of her pets from the Rainbow Bridge and they are all reunited. I will always have fond memories of the younger McCandlish twins. Rest in peace my friends.

I knew Darlene and her twin sister, Marlene, as Mart and Dart, when they were only 6 or 7 years old. I was a friend to their cousin, Duane Van Bergen, and I once took both of the older twins, Janet and Jeannette, on a date at the same time. I remember Mart and Dart as cute and sassy, and think of that entire family with great fondness. It has been many years since I have seen the younger twins, but their passing is a shared sadness.
