Not sure what to say?

I loved her as a teacher and human being! I just learned of her passing as I was thinking about my most inspiring teachers. She even invited me to her home to help me with advanced theory!

Thank-you so much for all you did for so many. Peace and Love to you in your continued journey. Barbara Conlon-Muth

Darlene was my flute teacher at Grand Rapids Junior College, and a dear friend to me for all the years after. She accomplished so much in her life for so many persons and communities. I will miss her greatly. Barbara Conlon Muth

Darlene was a bright shining light to all she encountered. Ever happy, positive, warm and funny, always a joy to spend time with her! Feel so blessed to have had the privilege of her company for so many days the last few years. Darlene was a gem, one of a kind.

Although our paths had not crossed in years, I still thought of her often and the impact she made on my life. She was an amazing teacher and mentor. Godspeed Ms. Dugan and thank you from myself and all of the other students whose lives you touched.

There are no words to express the profound impact Darlene had on my life. She was an amazing flutist, teacher and friend. I will miss her deeply.

"Miss Dugan" was my college flute professor and WMFA director for many years. But she was also a friend to us all. She loved others so well and genuinely cared to hear about our lives. I will never forget her lilting laughter. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of many passionate flutists

Darlene was a dear and memorable friend and teacher to me for many years. Her amazing knowledge of the flute and her loving approach in teaching each student made her a master teacher and a very special friend. I will miss her dearly.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Darlene was such a great mentor to me and many others . I will always cherish the time I spent with her.
