O'Neill Funeral Home - Cumberland Obituary

Darlene (Trant) Recore, 60, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 2, 2025. She was the long-time,  loving partner of Paul Trottier for many years. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late David Trant and Saundra Portman.

Darlene lived her life with the goal of making other people smile and have fun. She always lit up the room. She had a presence that is irreplaceable. She loved opening her home and hosting family and friends, camping, the beach, spoiling her grandkids, and country music.

Darlene is survived by her two children, Taryn Murphy and her husband Frank Murphy, Chad Recore and his wife Samantha Recore; her two grandsons who she loved more than anything in this world, Myles Murphy and Mateo Murphy; her siblings Joseph Trant, Lorri Mowry, Karrie Rogers, and Michael DiRaimo; her longtime partner Paul Trottier and his children, Andre Trottier (partner Tara), Nicole Trottier (partner Scott and children Mila and Maddy), Daniel Trottier (partner Amber and daughter Lydia).

Family and Friends are kindly invited to a Visitation on Wednesday June 11th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the O’Neill Funeral Home located at 3102 Mendon Rd. Cumberland. A Celebration of Life will follow with “Beer and Dynamites” per Darlene’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Mitchell Farm Equine Retirement, as Darlene was passionate about the retired horses being able to “Frolic till the end of their days."

Not sure what to say?

I did not know Darlene that well, but Paul So Sorry for your loss. You will be okay, and will move on with your life.
I did not know about Darlene until Sheila told me. Aunt Claire & Uncle Ray,

With a big, kind heart, a presence that lit up the sky, a smile that wouldn’t quit, a love of living that was unsurpassed, Darlene was loved by all and won’t soon be forgotten! She had a wonderful sense of humor, always insisted on having a good time, and made certain everyone else in the room did too! Her goodbye service today was a testimonial to how much she meant to so many people. Strange, though she couldn’t be with us today, her spirit seemed to permeate the room; I felt it. Somehow, a...

Rest in peace Darlene You will always be remembered for your laughter and making people laugh.

Ron and I are so sorry for the loss of Darlene. Our family gatherings will not be the same.
Our deepest sympathies to brother Paul, his family and all of Darlene’s family ❤

Words cannot describe how much we will miss you. Dannielle and I are heartbroken. You will always be one in a million and we promise to keep your memory alive. Now it’s time to rest and get things shaking up in heaven. Do your thing and keep the angels laughing!

Paul, I was very sad to hear of Darlene's passing. Although we had never met, from the pictures I've seen and the beautiful words written about her, I know I would have enjoyed knowing her. I hope you can find peace in the memories you have of the years spent with her. My deepest condolences to you, your family and Darlene's family.

So sorry for your loss Paul and family.
