My husband Riccardo and I met Darlene through the Illustration world via email and long friendly phone conversations to Ric's Studio in Toronto, Canada. We had the pleasure of meeting Darlene face to face in Philly and NYC, and were drawn to her energy, her smile, her love of conversation and her warmth. We are devastated to hear that she has passed away and know that the world has lost one special woman. Our thoughts are with her family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Darlene when visiting my daughter who worked at CTCA. We shared a few nice dinners together and I really enjoyed her company. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones in their time of grief.

Darlene was a wonderful friend and one of my favorite people on the planet. She had the easiest and most delightful sense of humor and was a fantastic artist. She was forever thoughtful and caring to everyone and will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family.

My deepest sympathies to Darlene's family. All of our lives are richer for having known her.

Prayers go out to all friends and family of Darlene Simidian - who was a former high school classmate - she was a sweet and caring person always!

Darlene and I went to John Jay High School many years ago. After graduation we lost contact. Our class had our 35th reunion three years ago and lo and behold there Darlene was. It was a pleasure to reconnect with her after so many years. Her smile and infectious personality will be missed.
Thoughts and prayers to her family.
Godspeed

You were a sister to a friend. You became a friend like a sister. You are a friend like no other. Forever.

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
