Not sure what to say?

Several years ago I had an event that would change my life forever. The direct result was my mind not working the way it always had. I was confused, scared and felt hopeless till I came across his name as I was searching the symptoms I had. I wrote him an email and in a short amount of time he answered it. So began a years long relationship of me trying to understand what was going on in my mind. He always responded with a kindness and personalized touch I rarely see in this world. ...

I didn't know Dr. Treffert personally.
He was a friend of my parents from their high school years.
My dad spoke of him highly over the years.
My prayers to the family.
I'm wondering how we can find out if there's a memorial service at a later date. My father would like to attend.

Heartfelt sympathy for all the family at the passing of this lovely human being. A genuinely warm, humble brilliant person who touched our hearts.

Dr Treffert evidently was a very knowledgeable dedicated and caring individual. There are many contributions that the Doctor can be acknowledged and thanked for. The family although saddened can truly be proud of Dr Treffert many accomplishments. May God continue to bless and comfort the family.

I first met Darold in 1993 as I traversed the USA in a beat up mobile home. I was a young student in search of savants. Struggling for support, Darold opened his mind, heart and home to help me in my plight! I will be forever grateful for his support and wisdom. Such a wonderful man.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Treffert. I send my condolences to his family and friends. I am from Ireland and in 2019 I got in contact with Dr. Treffert who very kindly helped me. Rest in Peace.

I am so terribly sad to read of Dr. Treffert’s passing, my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I have only just discovered his writing, as the mother to twins with autism, one of whom is potentially displaying hyperlexia. I was looking for a way to write to him when I discovered he had died. It seems he has helped so many and just reading his work has already helped me. This is such a sad loss and I wish I could have thanked him for his wonderful insights into my children. Rest in...

I offer my deepest condolences to Dr. Treffert's family and friends. I first met Dr Treffert when I was a student at UW-Oshkosh in 1970, studying Psychology. He was instrumental in getting me a student-study position at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in the child-adolescent ward and later in Fond du Lac. Years later, I obtained my PhD in Clinical Psychology and by coincidence specialized in working with children and adults with what is now known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I...

May memories of him be a blessing. He seemed like such a kind and considerate person. My son has a better life because of his research on autism. I send my sincere condolences to his family, my thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
