Not sure what to say?

OMG I'm in shock. Darr was one of the most sweetest men I have ever met in my life. I met him in Maui and we spent a wonderful week together. He took me boating & put to dinner. He was such a gentleman and such a kind man. We spoke for hours about his family and he told me some wonderful stories about his life. I will never forget Darr. He wlll be greatly missed. I met Darr in what seemed the most unlikely place. I was going to law school and I was working at Sinclair Paint to pay the bills. We became, for a time, fast and good friends. We played tennis together and laughed together even more. We lost touch before he moved north. I cherish the memory of this good man who was a good and special friend. My heart goes out to you, his family. I have missed him these many years and will continue to do so.

It has been some years since I have seen Darr, but I always remember him with a big smile and a tremendous sense of humor. He made Tennis fun. A great guy! Our condolences to Pamela and family.

Kellbell, Pam and Blake,
Been thinking of you all constantly. You've been in my thoughts and prayers every day. I can only imagine the sorrow and pain you're all going through. Just know that you now have a guardian angel looking down on you--to protect, love, smile and watch you three live on for him. He'll always be there for you in your heart during your happy and hard times. Darr will be missed by so many, which is a tribute to his outgoing and friendly personality. Stay strong and...

We will really miss Darr in the neighborhood - he always had a smile and a bit of friendly conversation. Our prayers and warm wishes go out to the family.

From Jason, Amelia, Fred Bruderlin and Debbie Kenyon we would all just like to say how many times we talked to Darr and he just always cheered us up, had a bright smile and well, you just wanted to give him a big hug. We were so sorry to hear about his passing. Our thoughts are with you. And I feel a particular loss as we shared the exact same birthday. Debbie

Kelly, Pam, and Blake, Words cannot adequately express our sorrow and sympathy for the loss of your father and husband. We truly enjoyed Darr's buoyant personality and ever-present wit for the time that we knew him. I know that he will be truly missed by all of you and all of us who knew and loved him. Our family's prayers are with you in your time of loss. Greg, Julie, and Christy Irvine

See you on the 2nd tee, Darr. You're a champion. God speed ...

Still hard to imagine such a "larger than life" guy is gone. I'll miss our golf outings, our trips to OSU baseball games (even rooting for the Beavers over his alumna mater,UCLA), our mutual love of tennis, enjoying the occasional cigar, and even our "political discussions" from opposite sides of every political issue imaginable. We loved to put each other on, trying to top the other with one-upmanship and then doubling over in laughter; and I'll miss that most of all. I loved the way he'd...
