His name popped into my head today; he was a sponsor for me in a bike a thon many years ago (I graduated from Ionia High School in 1975). He pledged 10 cents a mile for the regular route but 25 cents a mile for the entire trip if I also rode my bike home. You bet I did! Sore muscles for a couple days but worth it and it raised money for a special education school that was in the area at the time.

Dr. Opicka was a very caring and generous man, always greeting people with "Good Morming" no matter the time of day. Rest in peace my friend.

I worked with Dr Opicka at MTU in Ionia. I could always depend on him to be there when I needed him whether at work or elsewhere. I will continue to keep him in my memories as a kind man. Michelle Pelon

I had dr.opicka as a dr.as a kid I remember him as one of the best dr.that probably was the best in his time I have been to a lot of dr.s thru the years and I have never had a dr.as knowledge as he did.he also delivered me when I was born nov.4 1977.my condolences to his family.
