Darrell Bordson
Darrell Bordson, 63, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on November 28, 2015 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. As in life, he and his heart were steadfast in his fight to live.
Darrell was born on July 14, 1952 in Fergus Falls, MN to Melvin and Clara (Ehlers Heier) Bordson. He graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1970 and Alexandria Technical and Community College in 1972 with a diploma in Computer Programming. He and Jeyneise were married in 1973. He lived and worked in Minneapolis, Watertown, SD and Milbank, SD before settling down in Sioux Falls. After working at Citibank for 22 years, he was rewarded with an early retirement in 2008.
Darrell (also known as Buff, Bord, Biggen, and Bigman) was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, beach combing, and a good fire. He was a muscle car enthusiast and had a lime green 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat on order. He was a proud and loving father and grandfather to Connor and his granddogs, Tator and Tot.
Darrell is survived by his children Garrett (Lisa and son, Connor Gose), De Smet, SD; Andrea (Michael) Eaton, Bloomington, MN; Miranda (Ryan) Lang, Sioux Falls, SD; sister Char (Ed) Odegaard, Englewood, FL; Jeyneise Bordson, Sioux Falls, SD; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Dwaine.
The funeral is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, December 5 at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 W 41st Street, Sioux Falls with family present at 10am. An open mic reception to share memories will follow at the VFW, 3601 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls.
