It's been 3 years and I still miss Darrell. Meeting him was like meeting a long time friend. He had a smile for everyone. Ballooning will never be the same.

Words cannot express the pleasure a mother feels when she sees a look of absolute joy on her child's face. Darrell gave me that wonderful gift and gave Alan memories he will cherish throughout his life when he took Alan on his first balloon and helicoptor rides. Thank you Pam, Alisha and Adam for sharing your husband and father with Alan. May god keep you all in the comfort of His loving arms.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of this wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. Darrell touched so many lives with his smile, love and presence. May we all be guided by his spirit. May we take what he has given us and hold it close to our hearts, for in the days to come we will need the comfort of those memories to make us smile, and to help ease our broken hearts. May God keep you all in his care. All Our Love,...

Pam, Although I did not know you and your children very well, Darrell often spoke of you with great compassion. I knew Darrell for about 12 years, both as an officer and a friend. I am deeply saddened. Friends like Darrell are few and far between. Please accept my condolences and if there is anything that I can do, please let me know. It would be an honor and a privelege to help. I know that Darrell would have done the same thing.

To Pam, AJ, and Alysia: What a blessing it is to be your neighbors, and to have enjoyed Darrell's presence in our lives. I will never have a better neighbor than Darrell was to me. I have great memories of working with him and AJ down on the creek, clearing limbs and brush, helping me fix things that I had no expertise or tools to do so with, mowing my large yard for me with when my mower wouldn't do it, and giving me advice an wisdom when I needed it. And always, always, with good humor and...
