Our deepest condolences to Stephanie and his family. We will so miss everything about Darrell - his awesome teaching and flying, his monthly safety briefings (who will nag us now!?), and his unique sense of humor. And of course, his "always a Marine" spirit. We learned a lot from you, Colonel, and flying will never be quite the same without you.
Ye Mystic AirKrewe has a small tribute to Darrell and photos of our "missing man" fly-by for his interment posted at...

My deepest sympathies on this sad time. Darrell was a GREAT Marine who always did his very best. I have very fine memories of our tours of duty together and will always hold him in high esteem. Semper Fi was not just a motto it was his being. May God be with you Darrell. You will be missed. Marty Hoesch, USMC ( RET )
