It is always difficult for me to lose a patient - particularly one as tough and resilient as DJ. I had gotten pretty close to him (and a few of you as well) over the years. I'll find myself wondering when DJ last had labs, or when his next biopsy is before I remember ... I am very sorry I wasn't able to attend his services but please know that he will be missed and was loved by all here in the transplant office!
