Not sure what to say?

Hello, I was one of those students that he helped with the struggle over the concepts in Philosophy. I am to this day thankful for his leading that class and being so willing and allowing himself to be the excellent teacher that he was. I am currently writing a sermon about Prayer and reflecting on one of his writing assignments on declaring what was most value that I have. He remains one of my most favorite professors/teachers I have ever had.

Donna-

Linda and I are remembering you after learning of Darrell's death. Preparation for loss of a beloved life partner is never adequate, but (faithfully) out of the silence the presence of God unfolds. It's one of His inestimable promises.

I was in Spring Arbor briefly last week and spoke with our granddaughter, Katie, a Freshman at SAU who had just returned from her Core 100 Weekend in northern Michigan. I was immediately reminded of Darrell's vision for that spiritual...

My condolences to my colleagues Kimberly Moore-Jumonville and Robert Moore-Jumonville, on the passing of your father What a blessing to have his legacy in your life. May that legacy continue to shine through you and Annesley and through the generations to come. Take plenty of time to grieve, even as much as two years, and don't apologize for tears that come at predictable or inopportune moments; they are healing.

We became acquainted with Darrell when he and Donna co-taught The Seekers Class and, when first meeting them, introduced ourselves as "the other Moores". I, Jesse, especially remember the kindness Darrell showed me when I requested a copy of his notes on "sin", a lesson he had presented in class. His kind, friendly attitude will be missed. Donna, our prayers are with you and the family.

I have so many fond memories of Darrell. He encouraged my love for philosophy and shaped much of my early thought. I will never forget the time I told him that I had thrown out my Christian faith because I realized it was not what I really believed. He said, "Good, now we are getting somewhere." Those were words that reflected so much wisdom. I am happy to say that I came back to my faith, and that it is now everything to me. I was also pleased to follow in Darrel's footsteps by teaching...

We will be remembering all of you in our prayers. We have wonderful memories of Darrell and Donna, they have served faithfully! Such positive and endearing people.

A true giant in the classroom, a true giant in living the Christian life, helping and praying with and for students in the classroom and after graduation. A leader of the faith who now is enjoying the fruits of his labors. He was a personal blessing to this family and especially to a son in growing in the Christian faith and changing vocations.
