Not sure what to say?

I will never forget how Darrell charmed the socks off of all the young ladies at my wedding to Vance. He continued to charm us all ever since, with his jokes, wit and laughter. I'll never able to set foot in Luby's without remembering Darrell!! There is an empty spot in our family now, but I am so glad to have known his love and experience his joy of life. He taught us all a lot. He will be sadly missed.

Imet Darrell & Maryann when myson Alex met Warren ,Darrell's grandson at school. Then I met Leslie,Chris& Emalie&subsequentlyMaryann & Darrell.I just love them both. They complement each other,Darrell with his relentless wit& Maryann with her sublime forbearance.I can't imagine one without the other. We only knew Darrell for a short time, but he had an endearing kind ofcontankerousnes that made you feel as if you had known him all your life.My son really liked and trusted him(a rarity.}We loved...

Dear Leslie and Family,

Im sooo sad to hear about the passing of your father. What a man he was !!! I always envied the love your mom and dad had for each other. I loved his outlook on life. And too, I remember sitting on the porch talking with him.

Leslie, your dad loves you very much!! and I truly know what you are going through., but believe me, he is sitting there with you every single moment of each day. Just talk to him. I am here for you. If ya just want...

marianne,
my apologies in not posting sooner. since leslie moved away(to austin), it has been hard to stay in touch. i am so, so sorry for you loss. i have so many memories of my own of both of you. one of the best memories is when darrell would take leslie and i to the neighborhood pool in the red volkswagon. too much fun! those were the days! good days, memorable days. i wish you well and as always - peace. if you need anything or would like to chat, give me a jingle. i am in the...

Dear Pops,
I surely miss you very much.
You and Marianne were the most loving people. Thanks for those moments in time... I'll never forget them. Pops, thanks for being the first "father figure" in my life. You used to tuck Leslie and I into bed & kiss us on the forehead... thanks for those moments. A parent's love is a gift to us. I miss you, but I will never forget you.
Love, Brenda

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in these trying times. I know Darrell was very close to my brother and I pray that he and Leslie find solace and pray for a speedy recovery for Marrianne.

I knew Darrell when I was just a child. He was such a tease and made me and my sister Laura gigle and laugh, took us for rides in his Model T and let us sit in the rumble seat. I have fond memories of Darrel, he brought so much happiness into our lives, he was a dear man. .I can still remember the smell of his pipe and the grin on his face. I send my deepest sympathy to all his family and love ones.

Well Dad you were right as usual.
On many occasions, even before you began feeling bad, our conversation would lead to "C'mon Chris..Im 80 (whatever) years old, for Godsake, we all gotta die.. and I've had a great run... very lucky!" You would then go on to say how you ecspecially worried about how Mom and Leslie would do when the enivitable happened. You cared so much and were always thinking of your family.

I will miss... our long chats on the patio, the smell of your...
