Not sure what to say?

DC was a good friend and a great umpire. He will be missed by many.

My buddy ... I wish I could hear that squeaky voice once more... no words can express how I feel...

DC was one of the most loyal and genuine people I've ever known. When I first met him (my new neighbor Zipper introduced me to his buddy in the summer of '96), I thought that cheesy, ear to ear grin was fake and that nobody could possibly smile that much. But the longer I knew him, the more I knew it was legitimate and sincere. He was the real deal.

Long live his precious and rich legacy. God speed, DC.

Prayers for the family. May god help you through the tough days.

DC was a great guy to work with. he will be missed so much. remembering his lighthearted character always- love ya man

He was one of a kind. We attended grad school together and shared a love of UK basketball. The world seems somehow dimmer without his big, bright smile.....my heart is broken. Rest among the angels, my friend......

Your extended family

Darren will be missed. I know that he meant a lot to my son Tyler. He has been an inspiration and a mentor to so many kids and had such a passion for the game. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Marcia, my heart and prayers go out to you and all those that were touched by Darren's life. May the power of family, friends, and faith see you through this most difficult time.

Marcia-my heart is with you. As you remember I thought Darren was mine-potty-trained him & Julie together...fast forward to when Brian was in Christian Fellowship and Darren was the referee for the basketball game!!! My reaction was "Oh my gosh, I potty-trained the Ref" (how old does that make me????? I always remember him as being the perfect child-always did what I asked, never cried, always good as pure gold.....and seriously adored his mother!!! Congrats on a job well done...just...
