Watched Darren his whole career as an announcer as I am a big Saskatchewan Roughridees fan. I am also from Saskatchewan. My sincere condolences to his family.

Came across Darren when he was in Edmonton; I was on Vancouver Island and did not have cable. Had to listen to him whether I liked it or not :) I learned that I liked him a lot, passionate and enthusiastic for all sports without apologizing. When he moved to TO, I made a point of watching him (had cable by then) and thought the combo with Jenn Hedger was perfect. Same approach to sports without the varnish of other broadcasters. Everything I´ve read or heard about Darren over the years and especially since he passed is that he was born and raised in Porcupine Plains, Saskatchewan. But I quite distinctly remember Darren being in my grade 5 class at Brookwood School in Spruce Grove. And when he first started at ITV in Edmonton I dug up an old class picture from the `76-`77 school year and yes, he was in it, looking the exact same as he did on TV but at 10 years old. I had never met Mr Dutchyshen, but I pray family and friends find comfort in their memories and from the God of all comfort who gives peace during times of sorrow.
