we have had our hearts broken, knowing we will never again have those long, tight crushing hugs we always got from you. I will so miss the quiet talks we shared. I was so thankful you called me the monday before, a short call with you checking on us and always closing with us sharing I Love you's and you dad yelling to you he loved you too.

I met Darren on the first day of 4th grade at Bernard Terrace Elementary. There was no doubt Darren was “in the house.” He had a larger-than-life presence even then. He was always funny, often corrected and passionate about everything he did.

Darren is part of some of my fondest childhood memories, especially those from 5th grade. I can still hear Mr. Rapier in his strong “teacher voice” calling out, “Darren Ray Strother! I suggest you...”

I am so sorry to hear of Darrens passing. I knew him when he was a student at Bernard Terrace Elementary in Baton Rouge Louisiana. I managed the cafetria so needless to say I saw alot of our Darren. He did love out Louisiana food I'm glad the love stayed with him. He was my daughter's first childhood boyfriend (Fifth Grade). He was loud and loveable and we've thought of him often over the years and wondered where and what he was doing? So sad that we find out this way. Our Deepest Sympathy to...

I am so sorry to hear that Darren is no longer with us. Darren was my boss for 7 years. The obituary completely describes the Darren I knew and appreciated. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him, for he is a one of a kind and wonderful friend to all! My prayers go out to all Darren's family and friends.
