Not sure what to say?

Bates family,

I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Darryl while at UVA. I unfortunately let the frindship lapse and just found out about his passing. He was a kind, fun loving and devout person. I know that you miss him very much.

May God help you through your grief.

Bates family,
I am deeply saddened that Darryl passed away. I went to UVA with Darryl, saw him briefly while we were still in our Navy uniforms. I had the pleasure to work a few cubicles from him in the Pentagon. We had a great time during a tailgate at a country music festival in Spring of 2009. I pray that you find comfort.
Sincerely,
Keith Bare

How sad we were to learn of Darryl's death. We remember him as a
kind and loyal friend who cooked for us, laughed with us, and prayed
with us. He has a special place in our hearts. We extend our deepest
sympathy to Susan, Caroline, Rebecca, and Gerald.

Chuck and Mary

I am so sorry to hear about Darryl's passing. He was a very dedicated Naval officer and I enjoyed working with him for many years. My deepest sympathy to you during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

we were very saddened to hear of Daryl's death. Our hearts go out to his lovely, intelligent daughters, Caroline and Rebecca: and to Susan, as well as she supports the girls as they grieve. We will remember Daryl as a loving husband and devoted church member. He will be missed.

When we loose a love one we find comfort in the things remembered. Please find comfort through memories and by reading God's promise "your love ones will live" recorded for us at Isaiah 26:19.

I am sorry to hear of Darryl's passing. I was grateful to reconnect with him and Gerald at the Gill School reunions. He is with the Lord now and we shall meet again.

Gerald

Please accept our condolences in your loss of Darryl. I had communicated with him about six months ago and was happy about the reconnection that my job had offered with him. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you begin this difficult transition in your life. Remember you never walk alone as He is always with you.

Yours and His

Frank and Marty Garber

My deepest sympathies to the Bates family. Those we love left us with gifts in the form of memories that no one can take away. May we treasure such memories as they become more precious in the weeks and months to come.

God is for us a refuge and strength, a help that is readily to be found during distresses. (Psalms 46:1)
