Not sure what to say?

Kathleen, I just found out about this. I´m so sad! I loved year we got to live in the same ward with you and Darryl and got to become friends. I´ve missed the two of you since we moved away and have wondered often how life´s treating you. So, so sorry for your loss, it was a loss to the larger world as well. Love you..

I only just discovered this....Darryl, or "The Chinaman" as he was affectionately known to a few of us, was my mentor learning about cars (I bought his 240Z, he built my 911 engine); we had season tickets to the San Francisco Symphony, lost touch after he moved to Modesto...RIP my dear friend!

Darryl, I lost touch with you a long time ago, but never forgot you. May you rest in peace, friend.

So sad to hear about this. I remember our neighbor Darryl from walking to Golden Hill Elementry. I would like to print a tribute and notice in the Fullerton Observer Newspaper. If anyone would like to send me something. Photos would be good also. There is no charge for Darryl. We would just like the community to know. Condolences to the family. email [email protected]

Darryl Chin was my neighbor and in 1967 he sold me a broken down honda 50 and helped me to rebuild it. He was 2 years older yet he was nice to me.
My mom, Natalie Kennedy, went door-to-door with petitions to force the realtors to allow the Chin family to move in, because at the time there were deed restrictions against Asians.
The Chins were thought to be the first Chinese in Fullerton.
I will always remember Darryl, he was big and gentle and patient.
I still live down...

Darryl was like my brother once. I've always missed him. My mom always loved Darryl and will be saddened, too. Few of us in Fullerton, CA realized how sensitive and gifted Darryl was. Or how strong. His rendition of "The Moonlight Sonata" at the piano would move anyone deeply, when Daryl was just 15. Goodbye, Darryl. I guess no more Tommysburgers at 3 AM for us. All is well.

My heart goes out to you and your beautiful children during this sad time and always.

Kathleen, We are so sorry for your loss. We are so blessed to have known Darryl. Life is so precious and sometimes fragile. May you and your beautiful children be blessed and comforted at this time. We shared some fun times as families and now they will become sweet memories. Much love, Dean Davis and family

Dear Kathleen and kids,

My sincere sympathies to you in this time of your deep loss. Darryl will always be remembered for his compassion, his wit, his warmth, and his capacity to love you and charm you and keep you the wonderful person you are. My prayers are with you for peace and comfort and strength.
