I worked with Darryl for some years on the IMS Project. Darryl impressed me as someone who always left people with a smile on their face. He ALWAYS found a way to lighten up the most stressful of situations without losing hope, dedication and focus. Darryl was the type of person who thought of others before himself. Darryl was a cousin you could always count on, whenever the family had an event Darryl and Jo-Ann were always there. You knew Darryl was going to show-up in his Traditional Hawaiian shirt. I will deeply miss you. You left us too soon but will be forever remember. Love Laurie

Darryl never had to knock on the front door to enter my home because my husband and I considered him our “other” son. He was a special child and grew into his manhood in a respectful and humble manner. His mother and I shared many conversations about our children and supported one another during difficult times. It breaks my heart to lose him, however, when I consider the life that he lived, my heart is proud. May he rest in peace until we meet again.

We met Darryl in our childhood, beginning in 1955 when his parents resided in the stone house in S.E. Washington. Throughout the years we have experienced many of life’s greatest and fun-filled moments – first dates, learning to drive, graduations, marriages, child-births, and family outings. As well, we have held onto each other throughout life’s disappointments. Our time together bonded us as more than just “friends” -- Darryl was our brother, and we always introduced each other this...
