To the Wilkins and Silas Family my deepest and sincere condolences. I worked with Agent Wilkins in the Los Angeles County Jail. He was always pleasant, always offering advice, and very helpful. To the Wilkins and Silas families, I can't imagine your grief. I knew Daryl from high school. We ran track together. Darryl was a far better athlete than I. I tried to hide my embarrassment of losing almost every event during those years. I don't know if Darryl was aware of my deep insecurities but he always acknowledge my participation in a very positive and uplifting manner not common among young people.
