My deepest sympathies to the family, he was a great leader in the Fly Tying community, for he inspired many of us as fly tyers.

First met Darwin while flyfishing on a small flyfishing only stream near Jack Flats above Springville Ca. in 1970. He knew where almost every fish in the stream were and even had some of them named that he had caught prior. The motto in those days was "Limit you kill don't kill your limit" which later permoted the "Catch and Release" mindset.
Darwin was a great guy, fly tyer and flyfisherman and will be missed by the flyfishing community.

I always enjoyed visiting with Darwin and Anna when they still lived in Porterville. He was always fun. A comfortable man to be around. His passing is a loss to all his friends and family.

Thinking of fond memories of Darwin. He was one of the finest good natured people I have ever met. He taught me to always strive to be the best at tying. I will miss you Darwin.
