A Great Man.

Mom, Kathy , Dan and I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you for the amazing comments and kind words in honor of dad. He was so special to us and, as is seen in all of your comments, to all of you as well. Dad gave selflessly of his time and talents and simply loved life no matter what the circumstance was. For those of you from his Humboldt life, I hope you know how special you all were to him and how happy and proud he was to be a teacher. For those who met him in another...

Dear Barb & Family,
Just returned from being out of the country and heard about your loss of Mr. Korum. I wish I could have been with you to celebrate his life.
Oh what fond memories I have of Mr. Korum. Such a gift of music and life he shared with all of his students. Most of all he shared always his love for you Barb. I felt so fortunate to have been a student in his choir. He gave me the self confidence to sing and share that gift with others. Be comforted by the fond memories...

There aren't enough right words....Mr Korum was a special gift to every student at Humboldt. Reading through all the comments people have written has brought back even more great memories of a fine and much loved man.

Mr. Korum, was one of the best teachers of all time. Not only in music but in caring about the students. Whether they were in his class or not. A great man . The music man. Our music man. Good night sir, I will always honor your memory and our years at Humboldt high, 1958 - 1961 and beyond. You taught us well.

I am so saddened by Darwin's passing. I will always remember choir and all the fun we had. I will always remember singing "Surely the Presence Of The Lord Is In The Place" in the back of the sanctuary prior to the beginning of the Sunday service. My love and sympathy to family and close friends - he will be missed!

So sorry for your loss. Humboldt High School was lucky to have Mr. Korum for so many years teach at Humboldt HS. Class of 1963.
