Darwin A. Van De Voort, 97, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on December 22, 2017. Darwin was born on June 8, 1920 in Haledon, New Jersey to Camile and Henrichetta Van De Voort where he spent most of his life. He retired from R.M. Parsons in Pasadena, CA at age 65 at which time he moved to Palm Coast. Darwin also served in the US Navy as a Sea Bee during WWII in the South Pacific, and was a member and past chief of the Haledon Fire Department, Company Number 1. He served on the Haledon Board of Education, and the original Haledon Library Board. Darwin was a 70 year member of Genesis Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons in Pompton Lake, NJ and a member of the Alhambra Shrine in Tennessee. Darwin is predeceased by his wife Virginia Rose Van De Voort (nee Dimond). He is survived by his son Roy and his wife Jill of Prospect Park, NJ, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The family of Mr. Van De Voort entrusted his arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
