Not sure what to say?

Recently watched UConn win it´s 5th national title and of course thought you Daryl and how excited you would have been. We are looking at the making of another UConn Mens dynasty and how I wish we could together enjoy and take the great moments to come. Tell ya what, my enthusiasm for sports took a big after you passed. Being with you at those events made them so much more enjoyable. Miss you brother...

Do you know, and this is no exaggeration, that every SINGLE day over the past 11 years and 7 months I have thought about you at some point at least once every single once of all those days.
Daryl losing you was tantamount to losing my brother who passed in 2016. Here I go again with the damn tears.
We’ve been friends since we were what 5 or 6 years old and those summer days at your house that seemed to last forever playing basketball and homerun derby on your own basketball court...

I miss you so much and often think of you. I, like your buddy Joe M. tear up while writing this and sharing my thoughts with all of Us here. I could not help but think of you when Kobe Bryant, daughter and 7 others, recently perished tragically. Daryl, you were such a catalyst in my sport experiences, while staying with you in Westwood village in L.A. I will attest to your love and embrace of Kobe memorabilia in your studio apt. The Olympic and Laker's signed jerseys, picture framed and...

Wow! I just found out that this fine chap is no longer with us.

I was going through some very old boxes of letters and pictures and came across a letter Daryl had sent me in 2005. I emailed him at the time but we lost touch after that.

So after seeing the letter I sought to get in contact again. It is so sad to learn of his passing.

We first me in 2005 at the ATP event in New Haven, CT. Later we would hang out at the US Open in New York City.

Daryl was full of...

WOW, it's been 10 YEARS this month since I've seen you or have heard your voice. Nothing has changed that I intimated in my earlier messages to you. I still miss the Hell out of you, think of you daily, tear up, (like right now), while talking or posting something about you. I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that you are gone, it's really as simple as that. I'm blessed to have had you friendship for as long as I did and I can't thank you enough for the wonderful you were. I'll be up...

I would be hard pressed to think of a day since you passed my good friend that I have not thought of you. Just can't seem to wrap my mind around the fact that I will never see or hear from you again. You being my oldest and best friend the hurt runs deep, REALLY DEEP. So I go on and cherish the great memories; you know game 1 of the 2004 ALDS at yankee stadium, game 6 of the 2003 ALDS at yankee stadium, our trip to Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Kentucky, the Louisville slugger museum, the many...

Daryl Mecca,I miss you very much and find it difficult to believe that nearly a decade has past since we have been graced by your presence. Though we will see each other again in eternity, you remain very much on my mind. It will be here, where my thoughts and feelings will be posted with photos and words. I hope that others will visit and leave any input they wish.

Thinking of you bud...

I know this is many years later, sorry for your loss. I think about your family often! The above and beyond generosity of the whole family is rare. Darryl was growing up coming into the pharmacy, great kid! He made me laugh a lot when Don was after him to check his sugar! Lol
