May 26, 1957 - Oct. 25, 2016 of Hoover, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at age 59. Daryl was a graduate of Fairfield High School and the owner of Alabama Amusement Company. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethridge and Monette Thomas; and a sister, Gwen T. Fitts. Daryl is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kelly M. Thomas; his son, Trent Thomas; his daughter, Tiffany Harris (Jason); his adored grandson, Levi Thomas and his mother, Leslie Elliott; the mother of his children, Kellye Headley (Mike); his sisters, Donna Fassina and Sherry Mullinex (Steve); several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 11 AM - 1 PM, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with the service to follow in the Chapel at 1 PM. The family would like to express a special thanks to New Beacon Hospice and Daryl's angel nurse, Michelle Carrell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Beacon Hospice.
God bless you my friend. You made a big difference in my life and I thank you. Your illness and suffering are over now. We will meet again one day in heaven. I am blessed to have you being a part of my life.

Today we laid our dear friend Daryl to rest. I'm really going to miss him. Even though the two of us haven't kept up that much with the other over the years, and our paths went separate ways, Daryl has always been a childhood friend of mine whom I will miss very much. A lot of great memories to last a lifetime. Daryl was a great guy and one I was proud to call friend. R.I.P. Daryl!

Donna and Sherry and Daryl's family, mom ( Annette Syx) just told me. It is late Thursday evening. I am so sorry to hear this. Several days ago I left a message on his cell phone checking up on him. He didn't answer. Ya'll will always be like family to me. I will miss knowing that Daryl is not here, but have comfort knowing has moved to his permeant home with Ethridge, Monette and Gwen with our Father of all. My love to you all,
