Dascal Bunch Obituary
He graduated from Columbus High School in 1973. He was a longtime tool and die salesman and throughout the years, worked for Haggard and Stocking Associates, FEPCO Container Division, and Regal Industries.
Dascal was talented in many areas of his life. As an entrepreneur, he owned several businesses including K&J Grocery, K&J Trailer Park, E-Town Liquors, Second Time Around Sporting Goods, and an Office Pride Franchise. He was a Reserve Deputy with the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department, and he was a coach for elementary school and high school basketball as well as high school baseball.
Dascal was a member of St. Peter's Church, the Jaycees Club, and was a past Exalted Ruler of The Elks. He also served on the Columbus City Council where he achieved several accomplishments for the city, particularly in his district of East Columbus. He was an avid fan of IU Basketball and Chicago Bears Football, and enjoyed attending NASCAR races with friends.
Dascal is survived by his daughter, Kylee (Chris) Jones; a son, Jordan (Alexa) Bunch; and two sisters Sheila (Tim) Wilson, and Tina Bunch. He is also survived by four granddaughters, Lexie, Ellie, Izzie, Emmie Jones; and 3 grandsons, Zeke, Silas, EJ Bunch. He was preceded in death by death by his mother and father; and grandson, Keenan Marcus Jones.
A funeral service to honor Dascal's life will be held Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Pastors Mark Teike and Tim Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Friends may gather for visitation on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Donate Life Indiana or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Dascal's family would like to give a special thank you to thank Our Hospice of South Central Indiana and Franklin Meadows, especially Nicole, Shelly and Sam.
