Daulton Lee “Bub” Scudder

Daulton entered this life on October 13, 1993, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Terry and Sherry Birkle Scudder. He died on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Daulton resided most of his life in Switzerland County, living in Rising Sun for one year. He was a fourth grade student at Switzerland County Elementary School at East Enterprise, Indiana. He enjoyed playing basketball, riding his four-wheeler and dirt bike and swimming. He was a member of the Vevay Assembly where he enjoyed attending Sunday School. In second grade Daulton wrote a short story in a published book titled If I Could Be an Animal, I Would Be… He wrote: If I could be an animal, I would be a monkey. I would live in the zoo with my friends. I would play with my friends too. I would like to be a monkey because I like to swing on things. I love to eat bananas….I would swing on my rope with my monkey friends. Daulton was imaginative and loved to be with his friends and have a good time. He was a happy boy, always smiling and enjoying life to the fullest. He especially enjoyed being his Dad’s shadow.

Daulton is survived by his loving parents: Terry and Sherry Scudder of Vevay, IN; his loving sisters: Lindsay & Brittany Probst, both of Vevay, IN; his loving step-brother: Gary Dean Scudder of Rising Sun, IN; his loving maternal grandparents: Jerry & Dianna Robinson of Aurora, IN; his loving paternal grandmother: Paulene Caldwell of Louisville, KY; several aunts and uncles: Jacque Baylor of Aurora, IN; Kate & Leroy Guard of Rising Sun, IN; Cheryl Harrell & Gene & Betty Harris all of Bardstown, KY; Anita Kachaturian of Mountain Home, Idaho; Larry Caldwell, Vernon & Mona Caldwell, and Mark Caldwell, all of Louisville, KY; Tim Scudder of Florence, IN; his best friends: Harlan Scudder, II, Calen Otter, Tyler Rook, Jimmy Dowd, Keegan Kincaid, & Dakota Sutton; several cousins and other relatives. Daulton was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Virgil Caldwell; his adopted paternal grandparents: Paul & Betty Scudder.
