We miss you Goomba Man!

We know that you are having a ball up there!

You are still in our hearts, in our minds, and still in our stories that we share with friends.

Anne
When I say your name the name Dave just seems to fellow. You two are just such remarkable people and like many others that have wrote in Daves guest book on what a person he was and the two of you together. I feel people and things come into our lives for reasons and Dave will always be in my heart and Anne you will always be in my life. I am thankful to Dave for all the laughs and sometimes serious conversations we have shared but I am grateful for him introducing me to you and...

Memory of Goomba - Our Flag- The Borkowski's

Anne, So I unpacked all my ornaments and as I unwrapped Dave's ornament was just
simply shining as if it was never packed with the others. It sits at the top of my tree with
my grandmas's favorite ornament from way back when. I just wanted you to know that it
is a great feeling tlo know that several trees all over different places with the same shining
spirit. Thank you for this great gift that will be always on my tree and my kids will have to take
turns with them...

Though I didn't know Dave very well, I was thrilled that he was in my dear friend Anne's life. I was always impressed by their truly remarkable love for one another. Anne was an inspiration to me ~ she truly was Dave's "angel on earth".

I do remember being on their boat with Brenda and Jim O'Neill... when OJ was in the white Bronco on the run...

I love you, Anne

So we went – walking along the pier in downtown Chicago by the lake on a clear summer night - I see a handsome man walking my way -at that time I did not know but it was Dave. I told Erin “I sure hope that he is with Becky’s friends” And...

Dave was an extrordianry man. He chose to know the people around him and embrace them as his extended family. I worked with Dave and never felt uncomfortable around him, even though the circumstances were a bit uneasy at first, he always spoke the truth and never let me down. I could speak with him like an older brother but yet respect him as my boss.
Yes, we lost a great man, but his legacy lives on in all of us through our memories and our lives, continuing to live our lives as he...
