Dave Cooley

Dave or Mr. Dave was our next door neighbor for a good many years growing up in Rodgers Forge. Of course there was Ms. Aud, Michael and Terri rounding out the Cooley family. Boy, did we share a lot of time together, starting with the maintenance on the wooden fence that separated our yards. Mr. Dave had a gas grill before they became portable and I remember his family not having to go through the charcoal lighting and waiting on dinner that our family did.That caused me to be even hungrier...

I never knew Dave Cooley. I was not a very serious runner, but I participated in weekend runs for a few years. I knew when I saw his name attached to a run that it was the real deal. He was the heart and soul of running in Baltimore for a very long time. His family should know that he remains a hero to us who were less than running stars but who love participating in those weekly runs. May his memory be a blessing.

Knew Dave from the IRS and from 10-Ks. Terrific guy! My condolences to the Cooley family on your loss. You've run a great race Dave. RIP.

Dave Cooley was THE MAN of Baltimore and Maryland running. He was always there. He was always working. He always had a plan to make certain everything went smoothly. If you were supposed to be working a race, Dave made certain you weren´t just standing around. There are literally thousands of local runners indebted to Dave Cooley. Thanks, Dave.
