Thank you for everything, for expressing the need for education. You made me a better student and changed my life, and I am glad to have met you. Mr.Pope was the main reason I started to value my intelligence, and he truly believed in me....For this I am eternally grateful.

I am going to miss Uncle Blessy (that is what I called him, I now know his name was pronounced BLESS-it). I am going to miss visiting him, our long phone conversations and our shopping trips. Mr. Pope was a fine southern gentleman and a natty dresser. We worked together in the East Cleveland school system. He was always positive and supportive and often "made my day." Condolences to the family.

Reflecting on a fun and loving person: He cared about the students and staff as an educator. There was never a time I didn't see a smile on his face or making someone else laugh. God needed you more, where there is no more pain or suffering but peace. On behalf of my family and I, I would like to send my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. (Smile down on all of us)
