David Wesley Alford, 71, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Slidell.


David was born October 25, 1952, in Magnolia, Mississippi, to John Wesley and Sara Alford.  In 1973 he joined the United States Air Force.  In 1984 he married Dottie Matulich in Slidell, Louisiana. 


He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy “Dottie” Matulich Alford.


He is survived by two children, Matthew Alford (April), Carlye Alford; grandchildren, Ryleigh Clavier, Fiona Simmons, Stella Alford, D.J. Alford, Marlye Duperon, Jett Fury, Ripp Fury; brother, Malcolm “Burl” Alford (Barbara).


Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Friday, October 4, 2024.


Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 10:00am.


A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi at 1:30pm.

Loved working with David in surgery at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was so knowledgeable and we laughed a lot and working together was always a pleasure for me. Sure miss you.

Sorry to hear of David´s death. He was a good guy, a true and loyal friend to my brother, Ted. Matthew and Carley, Ted thought of you two as nephew and niece. I can just imagine the reunion between he ,Ted, Dottie, and Maude! He loved his family very much! You will be in my prayers.
