Dr. Amler was born on November 4, 1943 and passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Dr. Amler was a resident of White Plains, New York at the time of his passing. He was a graduate of White Plains High School Johns Hopkins University and the University of Buffalo Medical School. He served with distinction as Major in the Army From 1972-1974. He was married to Peggy. Funeral services will be held at 10am Sunday February 14 at Congregation Kol Ami 252 Soundview Ave White Plains New York 10601. Phone 914-949-4717. Shiva will be held Monday through Wednesday next week at the home of Dave and Peggy Amler 5 Cobb Ave. White Plains NY. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made either to âThe White Plains Hospital Foundationâ 41 E. Post Rd White Plains NY 10601 or to âMeals on Wheelsâ of White Plains 311 North St. 307 White Plains New York 10605.
Dr. Amler was my 3 children's pediatrician (and his father before him was my husband's pediatrician). Dr. Amler had the best way with children and their parents, and the kids gleefully anticipated seeing what necktie he would be wearing for their visit. We loved Dr. Amler and were sadden to learn of his passing so soon after retirement. Both David and Peggy are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Amler was my children's pediatrician for well over 20 years, we loved him. He was always so soft spoken and gentle, they are now in their 30's and still speak highly of him. My deepest sympathy to his family, he was truly a wonderful man and doctor. He will be missed.
