David will live long in the memory of many students and colleagues at Wellesley College. He was an incisive and deeply respected journalist. He told the absolute truth but always with a sense of understanding of the challenges in any script. As a photographer he captured those moments in a production that are precise telling of the story and the subtext. Although David lived off campus with his parents, he was assigned to membership in my dorm on campus. When he entered as a freshman, I was a senior. From the start, I remember his thoughtful questions and observations. He was a strong and valued contributor to our campus life from the start. I did not see him again for fifty years until meeting at a memorial service last year near Boston. Those years of being out of touch were my loss.
