David Ashworth

Condolences to the family. I worked for Dave at ASI in Earlysville for four years and learned many things from him. Despite my academic background, Dave taught me real engineering and how to survive the manufacturing environment. I'll miss you Dave.

In November of 1965, Dave and I hitchhiked from Charlottesville, Virginia to New Hampshire and back in one weekend. We arrived at his parents house, in Salem around 4:00AM. It was quite a trip. We got back to UVA in time for Monday classes. I shall miss him.

Thank you, Dave, for the inspiration of seeing you in action on the Southwest Harbor-Tremont Ambulance Board of Directors. Your detailed data analysis and contagious humor were great gifts supporting management of the ambulance services to the quietside of MDI.   Your commitment to public service is a model for all to follow.   Cheers to you as you move on to larger life!

To Jayne and Kristy - my condolences. I am so sorry to learn of David's illness and death. I've enjoyed your reports of Maine, Jayne. It is clear that David made good in his retirement, and it is a blessing that he had so much time there. You and your family will be in my prayers as you adjust to a new life.
