Not sure what to say?

To my old friend: We grew up together at a time where we were free and happy. We were friends and neighbors when we were young. You were actually my first kiss in the woods behind your house. My thoughts of you will always be of those innocent years. I hope you are at peace now. God bless you my ole friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. He was so incredibly talented & I have only the fondest memories of him & our years of piano lessons with Holmes & Johnson. I will always remember his smile & all the fun we had. My thoughts & prayers are with his family.

I knew him for a few years at Harlingen high. I was in choir and he played beautifully and was always so patient. He didn't say much but when he did he impacted me! Always so encouraging!!!

How well I remember those 3 hours a week of class lessons, and then there were always the private lessons on top of that, another 2-3 hours. David was always up for the challenge with a great easygoing manner and a ready smile. We had a good time catching up on those days back in the early 90's when he was the accompanist for our oldest daughter's choir at Coakley Jr. High. I know he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. My deepest condolences to his family.

I'm also one of the Holmes & Johnson kids. David was such a wonderful guy - easy going, funny and polite. We all had such fun at lessons and spent at least three hours or more a week trying to "keep the tempo and play together". When I read this Guestbook, it's amazing the huge family in music David and all of us had. What a blessing! My deepest sympathies to the Atchison Family. Mary Ballanger Brook, formerly of San Benito

I was Mr. Irby's accompanist when David was in choir and enjoyed working with David and getting acquainted with him. What a fine talent and nice young man.

So saddened to hear about David's passing.........I have nothing but fond memories of David in my early days in Harlingen. As a fellow pianist/ accompanist with HCISD he was most helpful in directing me as to the ins and outs of working in a south Texas school district. He was an impeccable dresser, and meticulous about his playing the piano. I was even impressed at how effortlessly he could turn pages during the most 'vivace' passages. He would just smile broadly when praised, then turn the discussion away from himself. Always a gentleman, I will remember him fondly. He enriched my stay in the valley. Blessings, Connie Morrison

My thoughts and prayers are with the Atchison family at this sad time.

We sure had some good times at Holmes & Johnson School of Music! Our yearly cavalcade trips were always full of surprises with David around, too!!!

David was quite the musician and seemed happiest sitting at the piano!

It's comforting to know he has joined his beloved mother and father who were a constant presence in his life.

May he be at peace in God's hands...

Always,

Susie
