DAVID ATKINSON

He taught my Public Admin class forty nine years ago. Arizona. He was kind. A gentleman. I remember him riding a bike. It all goes by so fast.

I worked with David in Mikkeli, Finland over a couple of winters. He was an excellent colleague and creative administrator. We worked with university students & local residents on countermeasures to regional depopulation, with some substantial success. David was warmhearted and brilliant, and is missed by many. Blessings to Family!

Sincere condolences to Dean Atkinson's family.
My daughter studied at the Mikkeli branch of the Helsinki School of Economics during his deanship and I had the opportunity to meet him a few times. Reflecting my own and my daughter's experiences, I can say that as well as being an excellent teacher, he was a warm, empathic person, who cared for his students. Our family is very thankful for his counsel.
